Knitomanija is a pseudonym for textile artist Gintare Murauskiene, based in Lithuania. her work focuses on experimental handknitting techniques, transforming sustainable fibers into vivid tactile artworks.

Gintarė regularly participates in exhibitions and collaborates with fellow artists to push the boundaries of textile art. Her installations have been featured in galleries and creative spaces, including Forssa Textile Week (Finland, 2025), Anykščiai art incubator (Lithuania, 2025), Utena culture centre (Lithuania, 2025), coffee house Raštinė (Lithuania, 2025).


Local communities are often involved into the creative process, as a way to communicate important problems, to engage culturally and politically. In 2025 more than 1700 knitters globally joined the initiative "We knit Čiurlionis", to celebrate the 150th anniversary of Lithuanian composer and painter Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis, followed by later projects "We knit culture", "We knit Žemaitė". Free knitting patterns, created by Gintarė, are shared through social media.
